Polycarbonate backboards Basketball Hoop Backboard Vs Other Materials - What's the difference?

!9# Polycarbonate backboards Basketball Hoop Backboard Vs Other Materials - What's the difference?

When shopping for a basketball backboard, you've probably noticed that there are a handful of different materials, usually made of polycarbonate. However, it is important to know exactly what are the different materials and compare them with each other.

Polycarbonate - In the vast majority of home basketball systems, this is definitely the best material to choose from. It 'clear, such as acrylic, reacts like acrylic, but has the advantage of being much strongerof acrylic. This means that you can play harder and longer with little fear of wall cracks or breaks. Polycarbonate is a good choice when you buy a basketball for young people who may not be as careful with their border.

Acrylic - At the upper end, which kept the acrylic rather often (or 3 / 8 inch or 1 / 2 inches), this is a fine material. But if the system you purchase less than $ 500 or so that the rear is probably alittle more subtle than that, you must follow the model as polycarbonate polycarbonate panels can basically do whatever we can do acrylics unless they have a longer duration.

Plastic parts - you only see this material at the lower-end systems, usually those that cost less than $ 160. This material is beautiful, if you're buying your basketball hoop for children, but a bit 'of disadvantage that is vibrating and requires a lot of the effect of a basketball. That is,not much of a rebound, so it's difficult to make bank shots from angles and things. In general, if you have the option of choosing a model made of acrylic or plastic to go with acrylic.

Glass - you only see this material in high-end systems of basketball, and this is the choice of material, if you really want a high quality system. The glass is in the NBA and college tennis used because it vibrates the least of all the materials, and therefore provides the best recovery. Glass also has theAdvantage that no yellowing after several years in the sun. While basketball polycarbonate and acrylic can be a little 'dirty, after a few years ago exposed as too difficult to see the sun, the glass is clear to us.

In addition to these materials, we have also seen some that will only baskets for playgrounds and parks.

Steel - If you really want to go the longest way to go steel. Therefore, the parks to use this material in areas where vandalism is aCause for concern. The only real concern is that this material has a tendency to vibrate an amount that is not ideal for the performance of basketball.

Fiberglass - As the plates of steel models are constructed of fiberglass to use a very long time to be. However, models of fiberglass are usually used on indoor courts. On the occasion of seeing them off, they have developed a sealant time to help the longevity of the basketball backboard.
